American History and Literature II (Civil War – Present Day), 2 credits

Course Description: A two (2)-credit high school course, integrating American literature and history from the time period of the American Civil War to present day. This course begins its survey where American History/Literature I end. However, you do not need the first class as a prerequisite. Together, we will comprehensively survey modern United States history, while critically analyzing literary works that mirror the corresponding history studies against a Biblical worldview.
Mrs. Lumpkin earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and journalism at the University of Alabama. Her early graduate degree work is in secondary education, and she is currently developing her studies in Christian Education. She has 23 years of teaching experience in grade levels first through twelfth grade. She delights in partnering with parents who have been called to home educate their children.
