Course Description:
In this year-long comparative religions course, you will learn the key beliefs and practices of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. You will then engage in a thoughtful comparison of these religions, holding them up against the truths of the Bible. This will lead to a sharpened awareness of what makes Christianity unique. It will also cultivate an ability to discern the values and ideas underlying the worldviews of others. From interviewing guests of other faiths to attempting meditation and yoga, this eclectic course has become a student favorite over the years.

Nathan is a pastor, therapist, and teacher. He started out in ministry at The Church at Brook Hills and now preaches every Sunday at Birmingham Chinese Christian Church. Additionally, he works as a licensed counselor in clinical mental health. This will be his fourth year teaching at ECS. He holds degrees from Samford (B.A. in History), UAB (M.A. in Counseling), and SEBTS (M.Div. in Christian Ministry). Nathan's travel experience in over ten countries brings this tutorial to life.
