Coronavirus / COVID-19 Response

​To the ECS Community,
Following is the response of Evangel Christian School to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and our immediate plans for the spring semester.

• All school events—classes, standardized testing, athletic, theater, music, etc.--are canceled; (or, when feasible, postponed). 
• For events that can feasibly be postponed, (i.e., moved to a later date), we will provide those details as they become available. 
• In accordance with national, state, and local decisions, we are hoping to resume a normal schedule by Monday, April 6, 2020. 
• We will update you if any changes occur affecting the projected April 6 schedule resumption date. 
• In the meantime, for all of your communication needs with the school office, please use emailsince phones cannot be regularly monitored. 

These are, obviously, dramatic steps that will cause significant disruption and disappointments for many in our community. However, we feel obliged to take these steps in light of recent developments, both global and local, and in light of the counsel of public health officials, and Evangel Church. 
We feel extremely blessed that, as homeschoolers, and with the blessing of electronic communication, much of what we do will be able to continue as normal. We thank the Lord for this provision and that we might be one of the least affected groups in the world right now to be able to fulfill the calling that God has placed upon us for educating our children. 
For those of you who have previously scheduled meetings with Mrs. Snuggs, those will have to be postponed. We will be corresponding with you individually by email to reschedule these meetings as soon as possible. 
We realize that, for some of you, this decision has an inestimable impact on your plans and will cause a reevaluation of how to proceed with the education of your children. To that end, we are providing this link to many additional resources that we hope might be of assistance in this adjustment period. 
While the challenge posed by the COVID-19 outbreak is unique, this is not the first difficult situation ECS has faced. Through all of those situations, our school board has remained faithful and steadfast, praying for God’s provision and laboring diligently in support of the school’s mission of exploring and expressing the preeminence of Christ in all things. By God’s grace, we pray that we all will be found faithful, and that our Savior and King would be glorified through how we, as a community, care for one another and respond to this challenge.
